Long-standing environmental problems welcomed Aquino into office two years ago. In response to these problems, the Aquino administration implemented a logging ban, designed a national greening program, and recently, signed an executive order on mining. The people’s growing awareness on environmental issues, however, demands a deeper evaluation of Aquino's policies and programs for the environment.

In this light, we invite everyone to Usapang Pangkalikasan, a forum on Aquino's environmental record and the people's positions on environmental programs and policies. This timely assessment is a build-up activity leading to mass actions planned by green groups for the president’s second state of the nation address on July 23.

Usapang Pangkalikasan is co-organized by Agham Youth, Center for Environmental Concerns-Philippines, Kalikasan Partylist, Kalikasan People's Network for the Environment, UP Explore and the UP Diliman University Student Council.
