The Center for Environmental Concerns-Philippines welcomes this year’s theme for the World Environment Day, “Beat Air Pollution.” This presents the reality of an environment plundered. Today, we would like to express our solidarity to all communities affected by severe environmental pollution impacting their health, livelihood and well-being.
We, the Center for Environmental Concerns – Philippines, show our solidarity to organizations of basic sectors and environmental advocates in calling for Marubeni to stop new proposals and existing operations of coal-fired power plants in our country and across the globe. The letter below will be presented to Marubeni tomorrow by Friends of the Earth – Japan in a dialogue. Marubeni is a Japanese corporation involved in dirty energy such as coal-fired power plants.
